At Mind Zone Tacloban, we believe that spaces for learning should also be spaces for dialogue, awareness, and meaningful action.
On December 13, Mind Zone Tacloban welcomed local youth, artists, and human rights advocates for “Pagbarug,” a gathering organized by Free Tacloban 5 to mark International Human Rights Day and the Jubilee for Prisoners. The event brought together members of the community through music, art, and conversations centered on justice and the call for freedom for political prisoners.
The gathering transformed Mind Zone into more than a study and coworking space for the evening. Through creative expression and collective discussion, young people were given an opportunity to engage with social issues and share their voices on matters that affect their communities.
The event also featured a Christmas fund drive for political prisoners in Eastern Visayas, with support from various youth and human rights organizations. By the end of the gathering, ₱10,000 was raised to help provide basic needs and support for political prisoners in the region.
For Mind Zone, hosting initiatives like this reflects our belief that young people need spaces not only to study and build their careers, but also to think critically, exchange ideas, express themselves, and engage with the communities around them.
As a space built for students and young professionals, we are proud to welcome activities that encourage meaningful conversations and creative expression. Whether through a workshop, a study session, an art gathering, or a community initiative, we believe that learning can happen beyond the pages of a book.
